WARNING: DO NOT MOVE HERE

I HIGHLY recommend you to NOT move here.
I was a resident at Advenir Town Centre from November 2007-April 2009 and I have watched these apartments run from acceptable to down right unbearable.

NEGATIVE
-My dish washer flooded my kitchen on 4 separate occasions. The first time it flooded, the maintenance man told me a part needed to be replaced inside the washer-which he took care of....I thought. The washer ended up flooding a second time, which another maintenance man "fixed" for me. The third time the washer flooded my kitchen; the maintenance man had the nerve to tell me there was nothing at all wrong with my washer. Once it flooded the fourth time, my washer was FINALLY replaced...replaced with an old dirty washer that was actually too big for the compact size opening of the previous washer. The replacement washer was too big causing the washer to sit at an angle and not open all the way down completely.

-I noticed a black powder that was appearing on the contents of the inside of my refrigerator. I finally had the sense to look up towards the freezer from inside the refridgerator and it turns out there was a rusty hole that had formed from the freezer and was dripping mold onto my food.(I will post pictures this week.)

-I was noticing cracks that were forming in the porcelain of the bottom of my tub. A maintenance man came out to fix it and took care of it for me.....and another maintenance man came out to re-fix the cracks when they re-appeared a second time. The third time the maintenance man came out to fix my tub; he got caulking and white paint all over the tile next to the tub and on the wall next to the tub. When I finally left these apartments in April, I could faintly see the cracks reappearing.

-The water ALWAYS ran brown before it ran clear.

-The 17 months I stayed at Advenir, I kept letting the Residence Services know that my apartment was having a roach problem. I was left a note many times letting me know that my apartment had been sprayed. For those whole 17 months I stayed in that apartment, roaches continued to be a problem. Ants were a problem in my kitchen for about the first month I stayed there.

-Dog feces cover the grassy area around all the apartments. You literally cannot take a step without putting your foot into dog feces.

-I received an Eviction notice on my door and was outraged. I don't pay my rent on time every month-I pay it EARLY to avoid situations like this. I took the notice and my rent check stub to the office and let them know that I had indeed paid my rent.
I was told by one of the office managers that I had paid my rent and that they must have given me the notice by mistake.....So they accidentally give out Eviction notices''!

-Before I made the mistake of renewing my lease, it was to actually end in Nov.2008. When I tried to turn in my Gym key I was told I showed no record of having one by Ashleigh, even though I had the actual gym key as proof. When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager told me that YES, I did show that I had a Gym key issued to me.

I contacted Corporate through email about all of these living conditions before I moved out, but I was never contacted and never received an answer back.

I was not sure if Advenir had a 30-day or a 60-day move out notice fee, so I went ahead and turned in my notice in January. I turned my notice into the office and was told by a blonde-haired girl that she would have my notice taken care of for me.

So, you can imagine my surprise when I received a $1,997.91 bill from Advenir in the mail. $1,308 of the bill was for "Insufficient Notice Fee."

It turns out the girl I spoke with, did NOT take care of the notice for me. When I went back to the Resident Office to speak with them upon this matter, I was told you are to receive a signed and stamped copy back, which I did not get. The GM at the apartment had herself and 2 other ladies line-up and she questioned me on which girl I had given my notice too. I told her it was none of them because I had given my notice to a blonde girl.
It turns out that day, the blonde-headed girl (Christina) was not working.
When the GM told me she could not do anything for me and to contact Corporate I went a head and did that. I spoke with Corporate only to have a woman there tell me that she had spoken with the GM at Advenir and was told that there was NOT a blonde-headed girl who worked there. I was in disbelief she would say something like that to me. When I told Corporate Yes, you do have a blonde-headed girl who works there. Her name is Christina the woman from Corporate told me she would call me back. When she did, I was told that YES, there was a blonde-girl who worked there, but she actually worked in the Leasing Office and only worked at the Resident Services every now and than.

So once again I was lied to, and now I am stuck paying close to $2,000 because of Advenir s horrible record keeping and wanting to take your hard-earned money for their selfish reasons.

The staff was not much help on this issue-I mean what could they really say' One of their own staff members who doesn't work at that office often lost my paper work, now I am the one suffering the repercussions.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER CHEAPER AND MUCH NICER APARTMENTS TO MOVE INTO IN THE AREA.

If I could have given these apartments a No-star rating, I would have.

Dear Kimberry, Your misfortune with the community is disheartning. I believe that the team on this community does it's very best at keeping exceptional record keeping. I believe the maint staff does their very best at rectifying situations in the apartments efficiently and most of all efffectively. There are times that errors are made, we are not perfect. We never claim to be perfect, however when we make a mistake we learn from them and try harder next time. We can always correct an error which we did with you. Previous management did not record your fitness card number in the book which is why we did not have record of it there. We did have a deposit for the card though showing in your payment history. This error was corrected. This is and was a simple correction to make. As far as your notice to vacate is concerned, written documentation is everything. We do not accept verbal notices because we cannot sign to accept them. The "blonde" employee that you state rarely worked in this office. She was a leasing consultant and works in the Leasing Office not Resident Services. She would never be up here by herself which doesn't make sense as to why she would accept a notice to vacate. My team signs every notice to vacate that comes in and we make copies for the resident as proof of acceptance. This was not done for you because we never recieved a notice from you. This acceptance procedure is also documented in your lease agreement which states that the responsibility is with the resident to gain written acceptance from the landlord as receipt of acceptance. I showed this to you when we discussed the situation because that is what we do in this office. It is a very common procedure, one that is done almost robotically. Unfortunately, the bearer of proof is on the resident. We went out of our way to try and cure this situation by getting the team together to see who might have taken your notice. You aleady stated it wasn't anyone who worked in the office, so we are at an extreme disadvantage. We are not in business to practice unfairly. We treat everyone with courtesy, empathy, and following company policy with compliance to fair housing laws. The only way to rectify this situation is if you can find receipt for the notice you state to have produced to the Resident Service's office. We will remedy the charges immediately. Sincerely, Amy Goodman Property Manager

I think it's sad and funny how the management has to come onto a rating website and defend themselves. Maybe because they realize they are at fault and need to make themselves look better.
