Aint no 'Holiday'!

Greetings

It seems that the current staff at the Holiday Park Apartments delights in making the lives of some of its residents miserable. Here?s a few scenarios as cases in point.

Roaches still running rampant, Sunday noon 12/2/01:
Resident pays $9.95 for professional grade insecticide, Pro Tech?s ?Sniper?, in an attempt to rid his apartment of the yet rampant and overbearing roach problem. The apartment was deemed not infested, assured not infested upon his move-in by the Property Manager and staff. However as was the first day moved in, pulling out the fridge on this Sunday afternoon, and applying the just bought insecticide, roaches come out of hiding with an alarm that alarms the resident -
there are many!! Under the fridge, in all the cabinets, all thru the day, all thru the night, at his moment of awakening in the morning, upon his laying of his head on his pillow for rest?there is not one moment when a roach is not seen, not any day when a live bug does not make his presence, and that of his kin known.

Currently awaiting the next 'wet floor' occurrence:
Toilet stoppage and overflow problem called in to the office...the technician that arrives with a toilet auger tells the adult female resident, "I notice you don't have a waste basket in here", "This toilet is overflowing because of the toilet paper tissue being placed in it - it is not an industrial grade toilet, but is of a commercial grade...it cannot handle toilet tissue". The toilet overflows again; the same tool is used to unclog it, similar comments are made by the same technician. Another call is made to the
Office, this time by the adult male resident, to inquire of these comments and there validity; the Manager becomes the conversational partner, and states, "The person that handled the call should not have said what was said". Currently as already implied, the resident is yet awaiting the next wet floor occurrence.

Sunday evening 12/2/01:
Teenager goes to wash a load of clothes in the southeast laundry room. The hour for closing of the facility is posted as 10:00 pm. However this night, the door gets locked at 9:30 pm. When she takes it upon herself to go and complain to the resident Maintenance character, she's told she will have to retrieve her clothes in the morning at 9:00 AM. Oh but the laundry room does not open at 9:00AM in the morning, but half an hour later.

She sticks it to him yet again financially:
Resident purchases two money orders, dated 12/3/01. He hesitates to drop them by sealed envelope his trust waning, as months previous to the this date, a money order valued at $200.00 disappears from the office, their claim that it was never received ? subsequently another $200.00 is burned (a loss for the resident, no concession at all from the office staff). The resident presently, foolishly, forgets to drop the money orders on the same date that they were purchased, thus having late charges imposed on himself, the thought perceived anyway.

He enters the office at 8:39 AM; mind you the office opens up at 8:30 AM. There is a bell hanging on the office doorknob to announce visitors/residents arrival, but for some reason the resident remains in the office unattended to, for over 8 minutes ? actually stands and watches the Maintenance character stand in a doorway, as he converses with the Property Manager in her office - until he takes it upon himself to walk from the waiting area, to said office. He offers the money orders dated 12/3/01, and asks the question, "Am I going to be charged late fees with these'? The answer as expected, "Yes $30.00, I just updated and closed the rent rolls", says the Manager.

Question: Would he have been able to get those money orders to her in time, if she had tended to him as soon as the doorbells warned her of a visitor'

Conclusion:
The Manager seems to have a vendetta against certain residents, and if she can add pain to a situation, versus creating a calm resolution, she will add that pain onto her resident's already stressed situations. Thus appearing to provide some type of deep-seated self-satisfaction, a control factor victory, reprieve for her.

At one point in time all the residents here had to deal with was an uncaring, ?do-less-than-their-best? maintenance staff, but at least the office personnel acted as if the residents mattered. A new company buys the property and fires all the old staff members, the next 'new' manager then quits unexpectedly, and behold her replacement belies aggressive sarcasm and less than truths to lend some of her personal pain to her residents. In doing so she is very ready and willing to lend them her ?prone to sarcastic? ways, and give the gifts of snide remarks in any given situation. Then on top of that the newest Maintenance character lends the same mental caricature of a disposition, a male version of the Manager. His method of communicating to residents is self-assumed overbearing wherewithal, harsh talking and verbal threats; roughhousing minors and verbally abusing women in the absence of their husbands and fathers.

Sincerely
A current resident.
