Be careful to read the 8 page contract.

These are pretty apartments. They changed managment about 2001 and started charging for water. They switched from a one page lease to one 8 pages long, everything in it in the owner's advantage. Various infractions of the lease are to me obviously there to generate revenue. Before my lease was up I applied for a month-by-month, which is more expensive. Then when I left, they tried to charge me ($800) for not turning in a written 30 day notice to vacate. Probably, they guessed that I would rather pay than hang around (I was moving to Colorado), but my sis-in-law was going to represent me with a limited power of attourney, so they backed down when they saw that I knew how to fight them. Still, I forgot and left a large container of stuff in the water heater room, and when my brother went back a few days later to get it, it was gone. I'm sure the owner got satisfaction out of that. It's your choice. I didn't get a deposit back, although I left it clean. The entire time I was there, the exercise room was being renovated, but I got no reduction in rent.
