Windward II - good neighbors/bad structures

I lived in the Windward II section of this community (off I-30 & Chaha)from 2003-2005. I loved the floor plan ( 2bd/2bth loft with spiral staircase, vaulted ceilings and a very open floor plan - I think around 1200 sq. ft.). The neighbors were all nice and quiet. HOWEVER... we had very frequent maintenance problems and nothing ever seemed to be repaired correctly. The 1 maintenance man was very sweet but spoke primarily spanish-which I do not. I had to place great effort in explaining the problems to management and hoping they would communicate the details so the problems could be fixed. This happened rarely. Another BIG problem was the A/C would not consistently cool the apt. During summers I kept it running constantly... some days it would be 100 degrees outside and the apt. would be at 72 (good) a month or so later it would be 85 degrees outside and 82 degrees inside (miserable!!). It would take 3 days for a response from maintenance he would tell me it was working OK and then go put freon in the unit. It would work well for about 6 weeks and then we would go through the process again!!! I complained to mngmt but it never was fixed... went through 2 spring summers like this and finally moved. The dryer vent was set up improperly as well so it took FOREVER to dry a tiny little load of laundry and heated up the apt. more...not to mention a fire hazard. It took them 10 months to finally come out and remodel the laundry room to correct it. These apts are on a "peninsula" by lake ray hubbard and very close to the lake which was nice... but it also meant that high speed internet had never been routed to this area (it stopped west side of chaha rd. so I had to use dial-up (not fun). Perhaps my experience was isolated... but probably not... people moved in and out pretty quick there.

I lived here for 1 year and the first 2 months where fine until the apartment above mines caught on fire and the office never bothered to ask if I wanted to relocate all the manager kimberly wanted to know was how it started and who's to blame? I had to listen to construction going on for 3 months constantly 6 days a week and including the thanksgiving and chirstmas holidays. The office would never return my phone calls about my request to move to another unit.Capitol construction also tapped into my fuse box and the manager wanted nothing to do with it. She told me it was out of her hands. My light bill was 300.00 to 350.00 every month after contractors started working there.I was so stressed everyday with no calls or answers from manager which doesn't even stay on sight, her office is located 10 miles away on another property so that tells you how good of a place tis hell hole is!!!! DO NOT EVEN DARE TO LIVE HERE PLEASE DO IT FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!!
