My husband and I have been here for too long.
When we first got here, we had a second story apt. in phase I.
It was alright. Nothing special. We moved to another place (1st floor phase II) and we were happier in the other apartment!

The staff was interested in only getting our money when we signed the new contract.
And make sure that you read that thing CAREFULLY!
I had a friend go over it and see if there were any loopholes, but there really aren't.

The safety issue.. well, I have heard the occasional gunshots. People yelling and hollaring at all hours of the night. You call the cops, they don't show up for about an hour.
HOmes have been broken into. Someone tried that months ago, luckily I had my dog and she scared them away (made em pee their pants and everything)
My husband's car was vandalized several times and broken into.
The noise factor isn't too harsh. We are right beside I30 W and it can get noisy at times. But you do hear the 'fast cars' go by with their noisy mufflers.

My overall opinion (if you value it) is to make sure that you have weighed all your options before choosing this place.
Just over the train tracks (literally) is the ghetto. So chose wisely.
