Have lived at Montelena for a couple of years. Management has told us multiple things in the past that were false. Their accounting system is very amateur and not solid at all. You are charged extra if you pay beyond the 1st day of the month, but at risk of them losing your check if you pay earlier (this has happened multiple times). Make copies of everything (they lose stuff). If you ask for a receipt, they'll give you a photo copy (very professional). Management has lied to and intimitaded other residents here. Pool is often not working, and always dirty. Outside tables and other things are falling apart. Grass is green by the office, but brown and full of dog droppings everywhere else.

One time the excercise equipment had been broke for two months, and the office manager told me that it had been broke for a day, and that she would have it fixed within a month. It was fixed four months later.

In another instance, a resident was told to stop whining about the pool. The office manager told her, "It's a privledge that we even have a pool that works."

The laundry room has five washers. A maximum of four will be working at any given time. There are six dryers, but only three are currently working. One of the dryers has been broke, with a not on it for over a year, and management has done nothing.

Maintenece people change every few days, and it takes weeks (without follow-up) to get calls returned. Red ants are rampant here in Texas, but usually apartments will make sure they spray for them. We were having a problem (with a baby in the home), and it took over a month for anyone to come out and spray.

This quality of residents renting is diminishing with time. Our upstairs neighbors are up in the middle of the night yelling and swearing on the balcony. Management has been informed of the situation numuerous times, and nothing has been done about it.

I'm a young father who works for a business firm in the Dallas area. When I moved in here, I read reviews online and called the office to express concerns about the reviews I was viewing. They said that it was just the few "bad residents." A couple years later, I'm wiser to realize that there was reason for the past residents to complain. The root cause of problems is the poor management.
