Not a bad place!

I've lived here for a number of years and have left and returned a couple of times and it hasn't been as bad as others have said. Concerning these other reviews, they all seem to be the very same negative "review" I've ever seen written for every apartment complex I've ever looked at. "Maintenance" is TERRIBLE (always written in all caps for some reason), the Office staff is rude/incompetent, Roaches/Rats are everywhere... yada yada yada!
Considering the fact that EVERY apartment complex has someone complaining about these universal problems, the Oaks is certainly no worse.

And what about these specific problems noted in the other reviews' In all times I've lived here, I've seen exactly one mouse (rats! really'). You're much more likely to see some squirrels scampering through the numerous live oak trees (hence the name of the apartments) outside your apartment window. In regards to maintenance, I've had to have maintenance come out twice to fix something. The first time they came that day (they had two maintenance guys at that time), the second time I did have to "remind" them of my three day old request but the lone maintenance guy came that afternoon and had fixed my AC problem by the end of the day...hardly grounds for a lawsuit! The rent has consistently gone up with each lease renewal of about $25-$30 a pop but as someone noted above, they charge what the traffic (for this area anyway) will bear.

For a real assessment of a apartment complex's worth, just look at the number of units available at any given time. There's a reasson why some places only have a few empty units available, just as there's a reason that some places have half a dozen empty units for every floor plan empty and chronically have "special offers".

But balance that out with what you get here, it's quiet (many "seasoned" citizens live here), crime is low and the grounds are kept clean (as is the pool) and parking is good. So, to wrap this up, I'd say yeah, this is a good place to stay! gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7

Thanks so much for your review! I'm considering moving here in October-toured it today and I looove the updated apartments. Some downstairs even have small yards-perfect for my dog. I'm also looking at the one nextdoor, which I also liked a lot as it has an even bigger yard but it isn't as updated. Thanks again!!!
