At times we have had problems with roaches, but, if you keep your place clean you can keep them at bay, even if you don't let them come in to spray (which we didn't).
The maintenance men do a pretty good job of keeping up with reported problems. If you don't tell them, then they're not going to know.
Electric bills have been a little higher since this is a pretty old apartment complex. Windows leak money, but a lot of that's my fault for not letting them know.
They have a security gate and covered parking now. Both have been in place for about 6 mos. There are security cameras all over the complex as well. Never had any problem with break-ins either to my place or my car, a rare party that gets a little noisy, but not during weeknights, so it isn't bad.
All in all, you could do a whole lot worse.
