My husband and I lived in Highland Terrace from Nov of 03 until Aug of 07. We left to move out of state, and now that we know we are returning to the greenville area we are intending to move back in.

We have VERY few complaints with this complex in our almost four year stay.

Truth is, you get what you pay for. When I was shown my first apartment, the management clearly told me the complex was quote "plain vanilla". There aren't a ton of extra ammenities, and the apartments are clearly dated. For the money, however, this is probably the safest apartment complex in it's price range. If you want updated appliances, washer/dryer hookups, nice grounds, etc. look elsewhere (and look to pay about $150/200 a month more if you care for your safety.)

We felt that (most of the time) management was discerning about who they let in. We never felt unsafe at the complex. All maintenance issues were dealt with promptly. As for complaints and notices from the office staff - it's not like these ladies are walking the grounds looking for something to knit pick. More than likely you've got a grouchy neighbor nearby with nothing better to do than call in complaints, but that isn't the fault of the staff. We personally felt that the office staff was nothing short of professional, and when we saw them around the complex or around town we were always met with a smile.

You get what you pay for, and this complex is nice for the price. You won't be getting a work-out room, etc, and your oven may be 70's sunburst yellow, but other complexes in the area in a comparable price range are much less safe and more run down.
