My truck was parked in the parking lot and an employee maintenance worker backed his work cart into the passenger side gouging holes in the side panel of the bed and cab. After providing three quotes from local repair shops as requested by management. There were several attempts to have me go thru my insurance and let them cover the deductable. This would have possibly increased my premiums as an event against my coverage. I told them this was unacceptable. Their next step more than a month after the incident was to ask to take my truck to their choice of repair shops to get a fourth quote. This quote came in a few hundred below the lowest of the other three, at nearly $1900. I assumed this would be the end of their games and they would pay up so I could repair my truck. NOT SO. After another two weeks I finally got in touch with the manager( who had changed her phone number since we last talked). She told me I would have to have the work done at their choice of repair shops and they would pay the shop. Or they would agree to settle the claim at $500 only about 1/4th of the lowest quote nowhere near enough to repair the vehicle. The Manager then said she would have to pass me to the corporate office and have someone call me. When called by a representative of Monarch Properties, Inc. I was told they were prepared to cut a check out for the repairs, but refused to make it to an individual and not a repair shop. When I told her I was the Full Owned with no note on the vehicle and I had contacted an individual who was going to do the repairs She refused to talk any more. She said she was turning it over to their insurance and had no idea how long the insurance company may take. I asked for a contact with her insurance and she said she would not give it to me. That she would be my contact for this matter. Today is 9/10/09 anyone know a good lawyer'
