A nice place to live... Great staff...

It seems like no one wants to take to the time to write something positive here.
I moved in about 6 months ago. When I was looking for an apartment closer to my office, I viewed several in the area. Some were just run down and trashy.
I went to the leasing office and Tina greeted me with a smile. After telling her my needs (fireplace, w/d connection, preferred location) she showed me a unit in building 23. While not brand spanking new, it was very nice and clean. The carpet looked new and Tina decided that the shower should be resurfaced before I moved in.
The leasing process was great. There were no surprises or hidden fees and all of my questions were answered.
On moving day, my washer and dryer were delivered. There was an issue hooking them up (A leaking valve). I called the office at 3:30 and someone was out to fix it within the hour.
Other maintenance calls have been for a jammed garbage disposal (last tenet dropped a few coins in it), a minor roof leak and an A/C problem. Each time I have called someone has been there either that day or the next. The A/C service call turned out to be a breaker that had been turned off outside by one of the neighborhood kids. That was an afters hours call and someone was there to fix it about an hour after I called.
I pay most of my bills online, so why anyone would complain about being able their rent from the website is beyond me. Most communities are doing this. Its 2009, get on the internet. Of course you can still write a check if you prefer and drop it off.
The office staff is always polite and eager to help. They always wave when they drive by, and many of them live on site. Overall, I think they actually care about the quality of the community.
For those who are concerned about the fire, lets call a spade a spade. Yes, it was arson and sadly someone died. But if you read the news articles, I don't think the "drug deal" took place here. Heck I don't think they guy that started it lived here. Even if it did, you can't blame the staff for that. And they are leasing them now. Also, the staff will avoid talking about the fire, but that is only because it is the professional thing to do. I am sure they are glad to be moving forward.
The staff does their best to weed out the trouble makers during the leasing process, but some are bound to get past that. If they cause any trouble once they are here, they will be ask to leave. This is a very quite community.
I haven't had any bugs. No roaches or ants. Not even a fly. But I am sure if I did the issue would be addressed quickly. I also keep a very clean home, so that may have something to do with it.
Parking has never been a problem for me. The spaces are a little narrow and that took some getting used to. I have never had to park so far away that I felt put out by it. Parking is of course a little tighter at 3 in the morning when everyone is home.
I would recommend Springlake to anyone who wants to live in a quite community with good maintenance and a great office staff. However, if you want to be loud and not clean up after yourself, this probably isn't the place for you.
