The Demise of a wonderful place - ask questions before you buy

When we first moved here 2007 in it was a wonderful well maintained and seemingly secure building. (selling points no less) The office staff at that time were not as helpful as they could be, but at least they were there. We no longer have anyone here in the building in the office area, the mamagement staff is off site somewhere. This place has changed and not for the better. We know we are responsible for our repairs etc. but, when we first moved here they had a guy that was here all day who could hlep with small repairs etc. they were also people here cleaning the main shared areas. you can't see anyone cleaning anymore. That is probaly why we have the roach issues. I have not experienced the roach problem that the one of the reviewers has, but we have seen the large roaches in the hall way now and then. It was the silver fish that drove us crazy. But that has subsided some. It is the safety of the building that we have issue with. When we moved in we had secuity people here pretty much around the clock a few months ago that all stopped. We had no security. We have no one in the office. Then in June or July there were 12-13 cars broken into(there is a secure gate) and the HOA brought back security from 10:00pm to 6:00am. But the place where the secuirty sits, you can not see the parking lot, not even the front of the building. The thing that make me speak out is on November 6, a resident's car was stolen and the information was posted by that person to let others know; the HOA people took the signs down from the areas where it was posted. I think that a car being stolen is something we should all know about. Because it means we are not safe in the parking area. Some of the HOA members dismiss concerns and issues that people have that lease from absent owners. I have met several renters who fell they are treated like second class citizens. For example there was barbeque or something the HOA sponsored at the building and the inviation said HOA members only and guest (which seemed to exclude anyone leaving in the building who did not own their condo. You can't have a community, treating others this way. When some of these same people leased, the owners sold them on the same things we were sold on when we came here. We could use the party room for no charged, now there is a charge, we can use the exercise room but the equipment is not the best and there is no bathroom and no water fountains and nothing there to sanitize the equipment after you use it. The management company sends people over to do repairs on the building, they have no identfication and could frequently be seen on floors of the building just walking around. What's next condo break-ins.

I moved into 7575 Kirby around June of 2009. I was very excited about the location and the look of the property. 3 days after I moved in my car was broken into and everything in was taken. My car was only one of 13 that were hit that night. After this, the HOA promised to do something about the security. Just last Friday, my car was stolen. I was unable to reach anyone from the building until Monday morning (Rita Fernandez) who then never returned my calls. Its been two weeks and 12 messages without a call, VM or email from management. 4 days after my car was stolen, I parked my rental car on the property. The next night it was towed. I was told it was an 'unfamilar vehicle' on the property. $200 later, I guess the management has no control over break-ins and theft, but have no problems towing vehicles with giant Enterprise stickers on the bumpers for 'just in case' reasons. Needless to say, I have only lived there for 6 months and have had a my car vandalized, buglarized, stolen and towed. I have also did my own investigating after a sign was posted about 'HOA looking into the crimes'. I found that almost all tenants boxes that contain on/off switches to electricity, phone etc were left unlocked, including those boxes that contain the same for the garage, stairwell, lobby and hallways.
I feel like Randell Management, maintance and security are all working together in a crimal manner.
I am currently moving off of the property and hope that nobody else will have to suffer the losses that I have by living there. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
