not sure about some of these reviews...we've been really, really happy this past year.

i felt the need to write a quick note to defend this complex. we moved to houston for work last year from WI and had to find somewhere to live sight unseen. first of all let me say that the management/office crew were SO nice, and SO helpful that we decided to sign up here even though the price was more than we had hoped to pay. we had some timing & credit issues, and the girls here spent so much time on the phone working with me (uncomplainingly, happily, even) for a few weeks, and then agreed to hold our place for a little while...i can't say enough about how they helped me through what i can call a stressful time to say the least.
and on top of all that we've been tremendously happy here. very, very nice, clean community, grounds, buildings, pool...you can't beat the location, and the parking situation is unbelieveably good. we have two cars and a motorcycle, and have never - i repeat, NEVER - had any sort of parking problem whatsoever!! i've never seen the spots even half-filled up at any point, ever.
one other thing i'l say is i can't believe how low the utility bills have been. we have a 1400 sq. ft. loft and keep the air running 70deg. nearly all the time, do a lot of cooking, use the dryer regularly, you name it...and our highest electricity bills have been maybe $150 (in the dead of summer). they average closer to $120.
yes, the rent does seem slightly higher than some other places in the general area, but i believe the community is worth it. i guess that sort of thing is debatable and depends on what an individual is looking for. but i just hate to see people here knock a really nice, clean, friendly, well-run community in an awesome location just because they don't want to pay that much, they DID know the price when they signed up.

The rent almost doubled after Katrina. It wasn't because the apts are so great. It was to keep people out. Once they realized people would pay that much, they just left the rent that high. This complex was so much more for so much less money when it was Quarters. Amli is a rip-off.
