Good Location and Pet Friendly

If you work in Downtown, you can't beat the location of this apartment complex. Plus, close to greenspace of Allen Parkway, Midtown, Montrose and easy access to other Spots in and just outside the Loop.
It's very pet friendly, has some of the largest grass areas and courtyards I saw when I was looking at places. Pick-up bags and trash cans are provided, though not all residents with dogs are courteous enough to use them.
Nicely landscaped though there is a bit of drainage issue after a heavy rain. First floor hallways always seem to have standing water after a rain.
Workout area isn't the greatest but seems clean. Can feel like a sauna sometimes.
The pool is nice but be prepared to feel like it's a frat party on the weekend when the weather starts to get warmer. It can sound like a spring break party sometimes with guys drunkenly yelling and the music playing. Pool view might be nice but I wouldn't be right on it unless you want to be annoyed by all the noise/music during the summer and the sometimes all-night parties.
The garage is okay. Nice to have covered parking but some people drive way too fast and don't know how to park. Be careful coming around the curves because people swing out way too far going either direction and most don't even know there's oncoming traffic til they're about to hit you. Also, you might want to take into consideration how far your apartment will be from the garage. I live in the middle so I don't get garage noise and don't have that far of a walk.
Apartment quality is okay. I live in a one-bedroom and there's plenty of space, nice-sized balcony with extra storage. Big closet for one person. Kitchen is dated but about standard quality for a rental. Washer and Dryer was provided in my unit. My carpet has held up okay and I have a dog.
My only complaint is the guy who lives about me is obnoxious but that's luck of the draw. I can definitely hear him stomping around (at all hours) but I think if I lived under someone a little lighter on their feet I'd barely hear them. I would live on the 4th floor if you have issues with hearing your neighbors.
Management has been okay. Sometimes they don't seem to have it completely together when they send out messages to residents but my overall interaction with them has been good. Friendly when you come to the office. Have emailed me when I've had a package. My service requests have been completed same-day or next, though they were nothing major as I've had no real issues with my unit.
Sometimes the garage and common areas have trash in them but that is a function of inconsiderate neighbors. I often see the groundskeepers going around picking up trash and sweeping pathways in the morning when I walk my dog. And for whatever reason, some people living here are either too elite or too lazy to throw their garbage down the chute. They put it right by the shoot but for whatever reason don't just throw it in there. Annoying and thankfully I haven't seen any rodents running around as a result of it. Groundskeepers will usually have thrown stuff away that people carelessly leave in that area in less than 24 hours. The garage elevators leave something to be desired and I would not use them for anything but moving.
The location is good but as a female I would not venture outside of the gates at night like I have at other apartments around Houston that I've lived in. Gates deter but do not prevent crime. No area in Houston is immune to car break-ins or worse, though I don't think I've heard of more than car break-ins occurring here since I've moved in. I was personally called after a night of break-ins to remind me that my XM radio was in plain view in my car (looks like a navigation) and to take precaution with items in my car.
Overall I've had a good experience here. Aside from obnoxious upstairs neighbor it's been one of the best apartments I've lived in.
