DANGEROUS!

My fiancee and I have lived here for 6 months and starting before we moved in, we had management problems. They approved us then required an additional $500 deposit 3 days before move-in. Letters from management of recent apartment and vehicle break-ins became nearly a weekly affair. Yesterday, my fiancee's car was broken into and no one at AMLI gave any sort of impression that they had any sympathy or felt bad in any way. The complex claims to have hired an off-duty officer (who happens to be a resident), but I never see anyone patrolling. Everyone knows the gate code to get in, it wasn't changed in over a year. It took them nearly three months to implement the only security measure they "felt was necessary." There are no security cameras anywhere on site. There have been approximately 15-20 break-ins since December. AMLI management has never been a pleasure to do business with, they are always steadfast and unmoving. Rarely do they even contact you when you have a package left at the leasing office. They do not maintain any sort of records regarding vehicles, so the towing policy they have posted is impossible to enforce. When asked why nothing more has been done to combat and solve the rapid increase in crime, AMLI Corporate informed me that "they were doing everything that [they] and [their] risk-assessment team felt was adequate." When asked about the higher percentage of crime in Towne Square versus other complexes in the area, Management and Corporate declined to respond.
The bottom line is: if you want to live in a poorly-managed complex with mediocre build quality and nothing to offer above and beyond any other complex in the area, and are also looking to score some insurance money AMLI's Towne Square is "where it's at!"
