Has its problems

One reason for the variance in comments about the Allen House could be both the size of the complex and the range of construction dates. This is a large complex, with almost 1,000 units in a series of non-contiguous buildings. I don?t believe they were constructed at the same time but were built in a range of years between 1963 and 1974.
I have lived in two different apartments in the Allen House and for the most part enjoy living here. As it is an older property, I don't have particularly high expectations. One unit I lived in had a series of water leaks that eventually required maintenance to rip out the ceiling above the tub to hunt for the leak, which they eventually found. My current unit is infested with ants. Despite these inconveniences, I continue to live here because the location is superb and the rent is tolerable. Overall, I?d say to happily live here, you must accept that fact that many of the units are over 40 years old and have faults that, while not always enjoyable, can be tolerated (at the right price).
