I have been a resident for nearly a year. Thank God my lease will be ending in Dec. The only good quality that Allen House has is location. It's located near the park in River Oaks. It doesn't get any better in Houston. Now Let's talk about my concerns. The cable company is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. The customer service people are so rude. The channel selection is much less than Time Warner cable for much more money. The apartments are 45 years old obviously built without any insulation. Therefore, my last month's electric bill was $250 for a 700 sq ft apt. The Allen House charges almost $40 per month for water. My suggestion for you is to check out Ricon apt accross the street or AMLI Town Square on West Gray. They cost a little more, but they are far nicer with much more reasonable utility cost. The apartment management team is the most unprofessional team I have ever dealt with. They are only nice to new renters. They do NOT like to deal with service issues. I was told to call maintance my self. But isn't that HER job!! Most of the residents are older and so uptight and mean. I'm a young professional, I like to have fun. The Allen House is only for people who like a extremely quiet apartment that is old and run down with mean management. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC
