I recently moved to Allen House from one of the more "upscale" complexes in Midtown, and I have been very pleased so far. I have lived there about 2 months and have had no issues. The apartments are not the most luxurious, but they are well kept. I refuse to pay $1200 a month just for an apartment with granite countertops. I pay half that for an apartment all to myself in a wonderful location, right on the bus line, management has been great, the maintenance people are extremely friendly, and I have no issues with thin walls or lousy neighbors. The environment is definitely an older crowd, but you can't beat the price. I'm very happy with my move.
