My Review, make your own conclusion

I have lived in the complex now for about a year and a half, and will probably continue to do so with the rising price of apartments due to victims of Katrina moving to Houston. The rent here is significantly cheaper than anywhere else I've found around the Med Center. My apartment has been renovated, and suits me just fine though most apartments in the area are still much nicer looking. My electric bills are outrageous, approaching $200 per month during the summer for an apartment about 650sq feet. I keep my apartment at 77 degrees, and am not good about turning off lights. I still think the electric bill in high . . something to consider.

For the most part I've found maintenance to be responsive. My air conditioner went out over the holidays, and I thought it took an excessive amount of time to have it repaired. I'm not sure if its anyone's fault, just poor timing. My electric bill surpassed the $200 mark that month.

I don't have any complaints about management, but rarely do I approach them either. I have never had a package stolen that was delivered to the office. I do wish they would have gotten a night security officer in place sooner. I have seen him every night for the past couple of months, and the crime has dropped from what I can tell.

For most of the time that I lived here, crime was a concern. My car was broken into, and I could see that several other residents were also hit. For a couple of months, wheels went missing on cars pretty often. Cars were left on blocks, normally during rainstorms. All of the wheels I noticed stolen were stock rims. Definitely make sure you have a good set of wheel locks if you move here. The front gate is almost always wide open, so if the security guard is off duty anyone can enter the complex. The guard does not work during the day, so people can come and go as they please then.

The complex is quiet, and I have not heard of any apartments being broken into or residents being burglarized aside from the car break-ins. I feel safe in the complex, but my girlfriend would not live here.

Overall, I would recommend this apartment to someone in my situation. I need to live in this area for my job, and don't want to pay the typical med center pricing. The apartments are decent, and parking is much better than the average complex. The price is the major selling point. Keep anything with value out of your car, and you should be unaffected by the crime in the area.
