Ok, but definitely some issues...

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
These apartments are nice, especially for the price and location, but there are definitely some issues:
1. TINY kitchen and itty bitty appliances. The appliances are studio appliances, even though it's a full-sized apartment, meaning the refrigerator and oven are really small. I can't even fit one regular-sized cookie sheet in the oven. Not good for someone who likes to bake, especially since the oven doesn't work well and everything I try to bake comes out uneven. And you can barely fit anything in the fridge. When we first moved in we took all the food (mostly just condiments, since we were preparing to move) from our old fridge that was "empty" and put it in our new fridge-- then it was full. Really, it's kind of like living in a dollhouse.
2. Maintenance is prompt and pleasant, but a lot of the work is done half-assed. For example, I kept having a problem with mold in the caulking in our tub starting a couple of months after we moved in. The caulking was turning black with mold, but no amount of bleach or other mold-killing products could do anything for it. Then when we started having puddles on our floor after showering and realized the caulking was cracked and the water was pooling up in the wall behind the tub, we figured out our mold problem: we were attacking from THE WRONG SIDE. When we pulled up a corner of the caulking, we realized that maintenance had "cleaned" it from the previous tenant by putting new caulk over it without ever pulling up the old, moldy caulk. So, we decided to pull it all up and do it ourselves, which means we pulled up a white layer along with an older, black layer(from mold, mind you). Absolutely disgusting. I couldn't believe anyone could be that lazy. This incident is what has prompted me to write this review.
3. Parking sucks if you have more than one car. The lot is nice and mostly safe, but the other car has to be parked on the street and there is very limited street parking in the area.
4. Thin walls, bad insulation. The walls are so thin that I can hear my neighbor sneeze. I'm not joking. Our downstairs neighbors can hear every step we take even though we really try to be quiet. There is a nice breeze by the windows-- when they are SHUT. A/C is kind of a joke since it all goes out the crappy windows. It's really very hard to cool our bedroom. Also, no screens. And good like finding the right size screens for these windows. And the windows in the bedroom are teeny-tiny and up high. I can barely see out of them.
5. Ugly tiled kitchens. The counters are tile, which means two things: they are super hard to clean (everything gets stuck in the grout) and the grout is disgustingly dirty. I highly recommend using soft scrub all over, letting it sit in the grout for 5 minutes or so when you first move in. Then you'll realize the grout is actually supposed to be white.
Ok, now some pros, because there definitely are some:
1. Beautiful hardwood floors. However, they are done a bit cheaply and therefore can catch your socks, have footprints in the glue, etc. Also, pretty much everyone in the complex has the same floors, so they really aren't as unique as they could be. People who haven't been in this complex, though, always comment on how nice the floors are.
2. Mostly quiet, there aren't a whole lot of loud parties going on here, which is a nice change from our last apartment.
3. Very good location.
4. Price is good, but they really hike it up every year, so I don't think we'll stay too long.
5. Seems safe. The only issue that comes to mind is when someone destroyed one of the washing machines to steal the quarters.
6. Laundry on site and fairly well-maintained.
So, overall, I do recommend living here, but only if you feel like you can deal with the cons.
