Really Not That Bad

I've been reading all these aweful reviews and kind think this apt community is getting a bad rap. We rented this apt community site unseen, and although a little disapointed when we arrived on moving day, overall it is not that bad. True the pools have something to be desired as far as cleanliness..however you can smell the chlorine from a mile away so it can't be that disease ridden. And obviously there are pine trees everywhere you can't expect anyone to man the pool constantly to dig the falling pine needles out of the pool. I like the fact there are only two entrances. After Hurricane Ike this was practically the only location that had electricity for blocks. The cleanup was super fast, and they came around to check for damages very shortly thereafter. I remember putting on move in sheet we were missing a lightbulb and ten minutes after I turned it in they came and replaced it. Granted they could use newer blinds, better pain job and new carpeting however the rent is always reasonable and you get what you pay for. I have unlimited access to the fax in the office and they have extended office hours. Okay and the comment on the --------- moving in let me address that: this is Houston, TX and it's also Westheimer..Houston is 45% hispanic..so yah, um DUH. Is this place an expensive gated high rise condo' NO of course not. But it's decent place to live especially for someone just starting out. Since we've been here there has been one reported crime, and they reported the full details to the residents immediately. They have plenty of safety lighting and they have an off duty officer who patrols and offers courtesy patrol to residents. And yes there is dog doo everywhere, but that is not the apt communities fault, that's the residents there are depositories with baggies everywhere for residents to clean up after their dogs. The condition of the laundry rooms is also the residents. Residents need to take responsibility for their community.
