jazzed up for superbowl, then forgotten about

I lived in this apartment complex between 5/2003 and 12/2004. Overall, the place was clean and nice upon move-in. Shortly after moving in, and before the superbowl, the entire complex was repainted. I lived on the first floor and it seemed almost everything was new, probably because of the Allison flooding. Anyway, during half of my time there, maintenance requests were completed quickly. The only complaint I had was there was only one dumpster for a huge complex.
The next half was different. In May 2004 someone almost stole my car, jimmied open the lock but didn't get any further. I also noticed an increase in riff-raff drinking 40s, smoking blunts in the parking lots after midnight, and old cars parked there with trunk locks pryed out by crowbars and bungee cords holding them down. Around that time I drove up to the office and said I was looking for a new place and I found that the "reduced rate" I got for renewing was the same anyone off the street was getting. Among other things noticed -- the dumpster was almost always overfilled and the security gates were never fixed in a timely manner. There goes the neighborhood. I subleased to a sucker student around Xmas 2004 and moved out.
Knowing how the place fell apart during the time I was there, I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.
