Yo!

Frustration has reached an all time high

First, I was deceived about me rent and had to take an afternoon off work to drive down to he apartment complex to actually speak to someone other than the answering service (who you will get to know very well if you move in here). They put me in about the worst unit available when I put my deposit down but promised to switch me to a better apartment as soon as it became available. Well, that never happened and threaten to move to another complex before they "found" a better apartment for me to move in to. I thought it would be great because it was over the pool. However, the fountains that look really cool when you are touring the property are loud and annoying at night - no - they do not turn them off at night.

The outdoor lighting is such that there is no way to get your apartment dark. I even purchased blackout drapes and could not get rid of all of the light. So, if you like to sleep with your lights on, you are golden. You would think that would save money on electricity - but the insulation is terrible and the bills were very high.

Either the noise insulation is very bad, or my neighbors are extremely loud - not to mention night owls. So... if I sound cranky it is because I haven't had a good night sleep since I moved in 12 months ago. I have finally moved out and am getting sleep - so am thinking a little more clearly and can actually type this...

They can't figure out how to subdivide the water and sewer bill, so if you find a note on your door saying you owe $75 and must pay within 24 hours or face eviction - everyone else in the complex probably has too.

Parking is incredibly bad. The other residents are either uncaring louts or so frustrated with the apartment staff that they don't care that their guests cut in front of you to get in the "security" gates (which are broken 90% of the time) and take the last space within a mile of your apartment. But don't worry that means you are right next to one of the only 2 trash dumpsters on the whole property. If you don't like carrying your trash for a mile - you will do like most others in the complex do and drive it to the dumpster.

Along the lines of parking, be careful - there is a scam going on with the tow company associated with the complex. There is a handicap space that is only marked by the paint in the space - that does not show up at night. If you don't pay close attention, and are unfortunate enough to park there, you will come out the next morning to an empty space. It will cost you over $170 to retreive your car. Check with the DMV - it is illegal to tow a car that is parked in a "handicap" space that is not marked by a pole and sign. There is only one space like this in the whole complex.

Retreiving packages from the office is a pain in the neck. If you actually find somebody in the office you will have a nice long wait before they find time to get your package for you. After all - you are already paying rent their priority is to selling - not taking care of the current paying customers.

I have never been more greatful or happy to move out of an apartment.
