Good:
The apartment itself is nice and efficient on electricity usage (air conditioning).
Quick response to maintenance requests.
Less than 10 years old (I think).
Bad:
Parking spaces very narrow--can barely open your car door to get out.
Automatic gates out of service about 5-10% of the time.
Very noisy neighbors, dogs, and kids: upstairs, next door, and in the breezeways and pool area--mgmt notified but didn't fix the problem. Seems to be more families with kids moving in. Thin walls & floors--can hear everything in other apts--water flowing through drain pipes, alarm clocks going off, people talking on the phone. Landscapers with noisy machinery at 9am Saturday mornings.
Charged me $50 for not reporting my electricity account quickly enough, even though I did and it was their fault for not realizing it.
Threaten legal action if you don't give them a copy of your renter's insurance quickly enough for their liking.
Located near other apt complexes that are like ghetto projects. Lots of car break-ins in the parking lot. Two murders within 1/2 mile. Armed robberies of local businesses. Crime stats at: http://houstoncrimemaps.com/neighborhood/westchase/
