Where to start...The building is falling apart: the wood on balconies rotted and hazardous; when it rains, there are places where water pours through the middle of the balcony ceiling. Maintenance said it wasnt a big problem and hasnt fixed it. Also during frequent Houston heavy rain, water would POUR through the inch cracks around our 10 downstairs and upstairs windows (no wonder a/c cost is high). I had to have maintenance come back 3 times to fix all window problems. Theres evidence in water damage on inside ceilings. Management made us promise to tell them of mold so they can deal with it, but you cant tell me it isnt growing with all the water damage they ignore. We are constantly fighting mold in the showers, no exhaust fans in any of 2.5 bathrooms. Screens dont fit the chintzy windows (half of which dont stay open themselves), bugs come through easily and often. Ive had many problems with ants and spiders. Neither sliding patio door has a screen, no airflow in apartment. Sliding door is the only air in the master bedroom (and dining/kitchen), I had to turn on a/c months early just to be able to sleep. Walls are thin, I wake up thinking people were in my apartment until I got used to it. There are constant car alarms and noise pollution; gates are constantly open and broken; when theyre not, cars wait outside and follow you through. Water tastes HORRIBLE. On to the office: usually friendly, with one exception. We got an ok deal to extend our lease, including money off next months rent. We used the incentive and paid the rest. A manager called and literally screamed at me for not paying the whole amount, after I had arranged it with another member of the staff. She was very rude, accusing me first of not being able to do math, then of trying to get out of paying my rent. When I explained we had used our incentive, she told me I should have included a flyer that had been taped to my door so she would know (still yelling). I told her to talk to staff member B and get back to me. She shouted Oh, I will, and hung up on me. I checked the flyer, which said nothing about including it in the rent remittance. I never did hear back from her. Thats what you get for paying $900 on time every month. They also threw in additional garbage and water charges, $25 on top of the stated rent charges. Kitchen appliances and A/C are old and very noisy. These are just off the top of my head, Ive written to much already to put any thought into it.
