Bad for your health - bad design flaw

I liked the location; the price and the contemporary look. I lived there for 2 years on the first floor. about a year and a half later, i'd wake up with fluid in my chest (i'm 28 yrs old) and was unable to breath. I thought I was having bad allergies, so I would take a pill every night to alleviate my distress at night. When I decided to buy a house, I started packing things up and noticed this "black mold" all along the wall where my bed was. I followed the mold to the storage closet, after moving a computer and microwave, I discovered more of this "black mold" - no wonder I couldn't breathe!! The main culprit was the attached planters that apparently leaked water into the apartment walls and allowed perfect conditions for mold growth. Being that this place was built in 1980, I have to assume this is NOT the first time this has happened. And they probably just Kiltzed over the mold and signed another lease. By the way, I am sleeping with NO problems now in my new home.
