Avalon Square Apartments

Great Place - If you don't want your deposit returned From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/1/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   Avalon Square (AS) has not returned my $200 deposit, 30 days after the lease has ended. I am currently working with the Attorney General's office to get my money back. While trying to call and get a hold of the leasing manager to talk to her (Karen), I have been constantly told she is "out of the office." It has been over 2 weeks of this and it's just bad business. So, here is my review of the bad things about this place - Don't Live Here. Parking - If you park on the outside lot at night, one of two things will happen. Either your car will be broken into (check crime rates for this area) or it will be towed because they tow anything because of the problems with Taco Milagro. Oh, and the lot downstairs floods - and sometimes enough that you can't get to your car. Tenants - They are not friendly and despite the fact they claim you can't have pets there - two of my neighbors had loud dogs that barked all the time. Laundry - No W/D in the units - not even connections. The laundry rooms suck because they are expensive - have few W/Ds and lack change despensers. Work-Out Room - It has a nice little radio in it to listen to while you work out. However, no one wipes down the equipment after they use it. It's disgusting. Pools - They are actually nice. Staff - I would compare them to used-car salesmen. Utilities - Expensive Appliances - Out W/D didn't work for half of our stay there. Despite their attempts to fix, the thing never worked. It turns out it was never connected to the water pipe. Trash- They pick up trash like 2-3 times a week. You just leave it in the hall during those days and they get it. However, most people just throw their trash out whenever - so you'll find yourself walking down a hall full of trashbags - all the time. Gates- You'll have to use like 2 keys and a gate card to get home. It might seem safe until you notice that you can kick all of the doors open w/o the keys.
