Moved here in August of 2008 and am moving out July of 2009. Can't wait to get out of here. The layout of our unit was fine, and the apartment staff are pretty friendly, at least to us. Anytime we've had a maintanace issue, it was taken care of right away, but the bugs are a problem. We've just gotten over them. I think the stuff they spray brings the bugs.
And, I don't want to sound like a racist, but as a young white/Mexican couple, we really didn't fit in. I'm pretty sure after Hurrican Katrina, everyone came here. If your idea of peaceful living is loud rap music by the pool and many screaming kids with no supervision, then come on.Also, if you enjoy listening to your neighbors at all hours having a quicky, then this is for you. And, if you like pulling in the gate, and don't get me started on the gate, and seeing unemployed folks sitting on the stairs in pjs, smoking something, and drinking something out of a paper bag all day long, then this is the place for you. I heard, after I moved to Houston of course, that Greenspoint is not the safest place to be, and thats for sure. Now, no one has messed with me or my wife, but I've seen threatening behavior towards others.
Now, the gate. What a joke. They keep changing the code, but that doesn't stop people from coming in. And all the codes that they use to have, still work. Just for fun I put in a different code each day, and that is assuming that the gate isn't broke that day.
Well, although I wouldn't suggest anyone I love living here, but if what you've read is for you, then move in, and if not, I've been told anywhere outside of FM 1960 is better suited for me and my people.

We here at Bayou Oaks strive to provide the best customer service possible as customer service is tantamount to sucess. Thank you also for the compliment of our Maintenance Team - we have a 48-hour Service Guarantee to make sure that all concerns ar repaired or repsoned to within 48-hours. We do have pest control service that comes to exterminate every week as a preventative measure. Individual service is available upon request. We would have been glad to send the pest control company to take care of any issues you had. We are very demographically diverse and have residents from all walks of life. Unfortunately we cannot control people's behavior though we can hold them to the tenents of the lease contract. We encourage residents to alert the office of any suspicious or annoying behavior so that we may address it properly. We have a Courtesy Officer who is an HPD officer and a Walking Patrol on site that enforce our No Loitering Policy, along with a Trespass Affidavit filed with HPD that allows them to remove/arrest any one who is engaged in criminal or unacceptable activities. Our gates are fully functional. We recently upgraded them to allow us to program a code for each individual apartment home. The gates are a mechanical device that will go down from time to time due to wear and tear or vandalism. We perform repairs as quickly as possible when this happens. We have take great measures to create a strong community environment that works together to maintain the integrity of our communtiy, but is can only happen through cooperation.
