This place is hell. I've lived here for 6 months, for 6 months I have informed them of various maintenance problems, of which only 2 were addressed and repaired. So, I have a years lease well I'm doing something I've never done before, I'm defaulting on it, I have recently bought my own home and will be moving soon, they may take me to court, but I have enough stuff on them to make it one hell of a fight for them and more than likely they will loose. Don't move here, the managment is rude, everything is broken or out dated, and they aloow health hazards to remain on the property, such as sworms of bats that chase the tenants, door locks that are improperly installed to where they are easy to remove from the outside, bathtubs that have the paint pealing and clogging the tubs (they aren't suppose to paint these tubs, it's a health hazzard - check the code.) This on top of all the surprise fees is more than anyone should have to deal with.

I don't think it is as bad as you make it seem. I speak with the management seldomly and they have been nothing but nice to me from day one. They do lag a little with repairs but I stay consist and they get done quicker because I probably get on their nerves. As far as the bats, I don't like them in the hallways either and I wish they would take a better approach about them so that I can feel safer. I'm going to look into the paint in the tubs. That's a good point you brought up.

They were nice to me until they found out I work for an attorney, since then they want little to do with me. I have given them both verbal and written notice of any and all repair problems, every 2 weeks I send them a list, including those issues they are aware of that they have not addressed. I work for an attorney and so they get there notice verbally, by facsimile, regular mail and certified mail return receipt requested. I document everything. I have even done this on the Attorney's (my boss's) letterhead, it has done little good.

I thought I was the only one who have major problems with the apartment as well as management. From the day one they try to ignore me and my problems. the whole apartment is leaning, the foundation is sinking and there is an obvious hazard for anyones life. On top of it no body is answering my phone calls. Ever!! They ignore my problems like they do not exist. They are rude and unprofessional. And they do not want me to contact any of the upper management people, saing that they will try to resolve the problem by themselve. Does any one have the contact to upper management of Bayou Apartments? help!

Surprisingly enough the bats do not bother me. I actually find them fascinating. Everything else is true, the paint in my tub is peeling, even after being persistent on trying to get them to take care of things, they really don't pay attention. My front door opens without having to turn the knob. The only things that I truly like about this place is it's locale and the fact that I have seen people with 70 lb dogs and they really don't care. I have lived in places that were built in the early 70s but were in much better maintained than this place.
