We are new to Houston and moved into the Bellmeade in January.
Before that we were in corporate housing at the Watermarke.
Like I mentioned in my Watermarke review you should take all of these reviews with a HUGE grain of salt.
People usually look for a site to complain, not when they are happy, so the result are skewed.
The apartments are some of most affordable in the area.
They are nice enough (new carpet, clean, new appliances) for the price range.
Its only Feb.
but so far our electric bill has been low and we use our washer/dryer/dishwasher/heat/ac quite a bit.
We haven't heard our neighbors yet, either we have very quiet neighbors or previous reviewers had very loud ones!
The parking is a problem, but it is at any of the apartment complexes.
You can always get a spot it just might not be by your door.
If you want you can rent a carport or a garage.
The grounds are nice and fairly clean.
Sometimes I spot a dog poop on the grass, but they clean it up pretty quick.
I haven't used the pool yet but it looks pretty clean.
I never see any garbage.
They started having bins for the biweekly garbage service so people are not leaving the garbage out in the breezeway.
Yes sometimes the dumpster area stinks, but don't all dumpsters smell'
The staff is okay, we have yet to have any maintenance problems.
But there is a guarantee, if your problem is not fixed within 48 business hours (5 days) Your rent is free until it is fixed.
They recently hired a Cares team so they are having social events (free breakfast, dinner, movies, etc)which should be fun.
For a few weeks the antenna on the south gate was not working so we couldn't open it, you had to go in the north gates.
But I have never seen the gates broken and left open.
There are a few police officers who live in the complex, and we have not heard of any crime (not to say that there isn't any).
They could use some more lighting in the parking lot.
All in all for the price we pay it is a very nice apartment.

If the maintenance promise was updheld, I would have had free rent for the past 1 1/2 years!!! Several things not fixed. Just wait, you will change your tune. I liked it here initially too.

I agree, take these reviews with a grain of salt. Pay attention though to the reviews given my previous residents and Houstonians.
You are correct, this property is one of the most affordable in the area and the appliances are nice and the apartments themselves seem to be well kept. Brace yourself when it comes to your electric bill. I've lived here before in a one bedroom and my electricity bill has gotten as high as $283.00 in the peek of the summer. Understand, I chose to live on the top floor. If the electric bill is a concern of yours, I recommend you live on the first floor. The noise level is very minimal but again, I live on the top floor and this is why I chose the top.
They did indeed start provide a trash bin on a bi-weekly basis to help keep the grounds clean. My only spiff with that was that management didn't recruit the opinion of the residents before purchasing the bins and charging each resident a one time fee of $26.00 to help cover the cost of the bins. Now, it is only $26.00 but as a resident, I would have liked to see the management company check with me first before spending my money.
The maintenance staff is awesome, I will agree. It's the office staff that I personally have been less than pleased with. Keep in mind, this has been my experience, and this may not be the experience of other residents. I'm not too terribly difficult to please but I have lived here before; therefore, my expectations may be a little higher than most.
The social events are nice but most apartment communities offer this service now a days.
I must say, they have finally gotten the gates under control. It's taken them almost a year but they have finally gotten them secured for a period of time longer than two weeks so I am pleased about that.
