Nice for the area and the money

These apartments are fairly nice on the inside, with decent architecture. The place has a bit of a run-down feel to it on the outside, but it's really hard to point to anything specific. Since it's not in one of the best neighborhoods in Houston, tenants are aurally assaulted by booming bass drive-bys, and parties on the weekend. Several cars were broken into on multiple occasions just outside my apartment, but there was really no help for that since it seemed to be more out of spite than anything else.
The management was near-fascist about enforcing current registration on parked vehicles, and I had two vehicles towed away three times each without prior notification.
The entry and exit gates were constantly broken and hanging open, and when they were fixed (once a month or so, give or a take a couple weeks), they would be promptly broken within a couple days. I believe this to be a problem with the tenants rather than the gate itself, however. Every faucet in our apartment would leak constantly, and calls to maintenance would fix it only for a couple weeks. In spite of this, the maintenance was prompt and courteous.
Though the complex itself is well-lit, it's in a somewhat seedy neighborhood. Be a bit wary of travelling on foot.
Overall, not too bad a place for the price.
