We've lived here for one and a half years and it's been a pretty positive experience until lately.
We have tried to move into a new apartment because with a move-in special the renovated ones were just as cheap as the one we were currently in. Basically, management never returned our calls about the available apartments and then started charging us month-to-month fees when our lease was up. As we tried to renew our lease, which we couldn't because no one would ever talk to us, they decided to charge us an extra $174 per month. When we met with the manager, he said there was nothing he could do and that we had to pay the month to month charges. To recap we are paying an extra $174 a month because the management essentially wouldn't let us sign a new lease. We met with the manager and gave our sixty days notice to move out. After explaining all that had happened, he said that he would rather have $550 in these month-to-month fees(3 months), then have us leave as satisfied customers.
One of the main reasons the month to month fees are outrageous is because it would put our rent at $1055 a month. This apartment that we are in is definetly not worth that. At last count there are 22 cracks in the walls. This complex has terrible foundation problems. Around 4 of the cracks have actually completely separated leaving a about 1/2-1 inch gap in the walls. Can you imagine how nice that is' A nice attractive black crack running down your wall.
Maintenance is pretty good with stuff they can fix. Our apartment has flooded 3 times due to the dishwasher upstairs breaking. While this was a great inconvience, maintenance came that night to fix it. Now if they could only do some repairs to the foundation.
Parking has never been a problem. Most of the people in the complex are very nice. There is a very diverse population here ranaging from families to students. The apartments hardly ever get noisy. The location is great and is fairly central to everything. We also feel completely safe in our complex.
I recommend this apartment if you sign a one year lease(so you won't have to deal with management on signing another) and don't mind cracks in your walls.
