My fianc and I haven't even been living at the Broadmead for a solid year yet and we have already encountered several (at least three) problems with our apartment severe enough for management to put us into a different apartment. These problems began very early, with the A/C in the apartment that was supposed to be ours breaking before we moved in (we couldn't move into our apartment right away--we had to stay in a vacant loft for almost a week.) Maintenance is extremely slow. Our A/C needed to be repaired several times before management decided to get us a new air conditioner entirely. We have had more problems with our A/C than I care to mention, but the most significant problem we have had resulted from a leak in our ceiling (which I had reported to management before going out of town for a holiday weekend, and of which they said they never received a report. My fianc worked in apartment maintenance at the time and had to threaten to take legal action before management responded. Even so, we were displaced from our apartment for over a month when management told me to pack only enough clothes for a week at the most). The "showroom" apartment we stayed in was FILTHY when we moved in. The leak itself caused one third of the ceiling in our bedroom to crumble and fall to the ground and mold to form, causing my fianc and me to get sick. Management has changed at least twice since we moved in and each staff has been highly discourteous, unreliable, and unresponsive. At times, one manager swore at us and got belligerent with me. Further, I do not feel safe here (my car was broken into on-site). To cut a long story short, this place is cheap to live in, but you do get what you pay for.
