I've lived in Southwest Houston for 22 years. So I know this area pretty well. I've live on the Broadmoor property for almost 5 years now, so I know my opinion should count. The Broadmoor is located in one of the most covenant places in the Southwest area. We have easy access to Hwy 59 south and Beltway 8 (Tollway). We also have a great variety of grocery stores to choose from. These include HEB, Viet Hoa (They have fresh seafood, meats as well as fruits and vegetables. It's also great for finding foods from others countries, especially the Asian countries), Foodtown and the newly Super Wal-Mart. All of this competition keeps the price of food low. As a consumer this is important to me. The grounds on the property have always been well maintained. The maintenance man Jose is great. He is friendly, kind and always tries to make sure that everything is in working order (Considering that the property is more then 20 years old). After hearing the maintenance horror stories from friends who live on other properties, I would rate Jose at 9 .
As for Crime. Sure there have been crimes on the property such as breaking into cars, apartments and car theft (I??ve had 2 of these occur to me). But if you ask around or check with HPD (Houston Police Department), I??m sure they will tell you that even the so called ??BEST?? of neighborhoods and apartment complexes have had more of these crimes in the past few years. It??s the times we are in. Only thing I would suggest is to get rental insurance, full cover auto insurance and take advantage of the alarm system that the property offers. It??s truly the only way to protect your prize possessions (Take it from someone who learned the hard way).
The Broadmoor has had 3 property managers since I??ve lived here. All have been helpful, respectful and kind, some more then others (but everyone has a bad day). If you are the kind of tenant that pays rent on time, doesn??t make a lot of noise and is respect of your neighbors and the property, then they have no problem with giving you whatever you need. I have wonderful neighbors who I know and respect. We watch out for each other because we are neighbors. If we see some that??s right we call each other or notify the Leasing office or call the police. For us the Broadmoor is not just another apartment complex it??s ??OUR HOME??!
