I live at this property and was curious what other people had to say about living here. Frankly, it's a great place to live. These past few months, residents have seen a HUGE turnaround from the way things were being run with the previous property manager. For the first time in the almost ten years of renting apartments, I can actually say that the staff here seems to be on target with what they are doing.
I really wanted to respond to so many of the previous comments, but rather I will just say a few things. For the people who complained about cars being towed, I am one of the people who fully supports what Broadstone has done. Guest of residence were, at one point, ridiculous and excessive. I could NEVER find parking spaces before they started the parking permit. I'm assuming those complaining were the ones who had excessive guests. I know it's annoying to only have 10 guest spaces and the rest have to park on the street outside of the gates, but that's the price you pay for having a smaller complex.
I was amused by the individual who suggests moving to a complex down the street because of the added security. To that individual (even though he/she is probably not reading this), you chose this complex knowing that there was not a 24 hour security guard. I can't stand when people complain about there not being something when there never was that thing to begin with! I think Broadstone has taken major measures to reduce the crime within this community. They have disabled the side gates from being used, so random people can't get in that way. I wish people understood that when you live in a major metropolitan city, and you live near any sort of public transportation stop, there is always possibility for crime to occur.
Regarding the price of rent and increases, I lived in New York prior to moving to Houston and I don't know what the law is in Texas, but it's the norm for rent to go up. I find it nearly impossible to believe that someone had a 20% increase. I didn't see an increase in rent for resigning!
Clearly I am a fan of living here. The place has had quite a turnaround since James left. He didn't seem like he wanted to be here and had the customer service bit down (unfortunately he was full of it and never followed through!). Thank you, Erika, for showing the residence that we have someone to rely on in the office and for that matter, she's always been the one to make things come to fruition, so from day #1 as a resident, she's been top notch!
In talking to other residence, who might I add make this feel like a lovely little community, have mentioned that they have never had problems here. One of the residence has lived on this property for nine years!
