Apparently, the management and their friends are posting positive reviews on this board.
Let's get right to the facts:
1) Poor Management - The office staff has made numerous mistakes on our deposits. This was discovered upon our move-out. They further claimed that we never gave our $1000 deposit for 2 pets upon our move in. They also raised the rent the last 60 days when we notified them of our leaving.
2) Apartment fixings, air conditioner, appliances are very cheaply made and installed. Air conditioner breaks all the time because it can't handle the summer heat. Maintenance has visited our place many times to fix stupid things that were cheaply installed (kitchen faucet, toilet lugs, door handles, etc.
3) Parking spaces are SO SMALL! If you get a good spot, you can guarantee that someone will put a bottle under your tire, or spill beer and alchohol on your vehicle.
4) Crime. Here's the incidents (from the HPD - for 3800 Audley; 3200 Norfolk; 3700 Audley):
* June 2, 2004 â Burglary of Motor Vehicle * September 16, 2004 â Burglary * September 16, 2004 â Burglary * September 16, 2004 â Burglary * September 17, 2004 â Burglary of Motor Vehicle * September 17, 2004 â Burglary of Motor Vehicle * February 15, 2005 - Robbery * June 29, 2005 â Auto Theft * July, 8, 2005 â Auto Theft * October 10, 2005 - Burglary * October 10, 2005 â Burglary * October 15, 2005 - Burglary * November 7, 2005 - Aggravated Assault * November 14, 2005 - Burglary * December 18, 2005 - Burglary of Vehicle * December 18, 2005 - Burglary of Vehicle * December 18, 2005 - Burglary of Vehicle * December 21, 2005 - Auto Theft * December 31, 2005 - Burglary * December 31, 2005 - Forcible Rape * January 12, 2006 - Burglary * January 12, 2006 - Burglary * January 12, 2006 â Burglary * March 12, 2006 â Burglary
Notice that Burglaries occur every three months (almost like clock-work).
Office staff also does not posts incidents to inform the residents. Residents have a right to know the history of their apartment safety (or lack of it).
5) Security guard/Courtesy officer is never around. I have it on good information that he stays on the top floor of the garage and sleeps.
6) Loud kids partying and making noise after 2am as they return from the clubs.
7) Deposits are unreasonably high! For example, $500 (250 non refundable) per pet. And that's if they don't lose your paperwork.
8) Office staff retailiates against you (making claims to your renter's report) when you inquire about the security and safety of the premises. It took legal options to get ours removed.
I could go on and on, but you decide based on the reviews and the facts from HPD. Make sure you ask them about crime statistics.
Don't let the office staff and others post fake reviews.
