I have lived in The Carlton for 3 years and I still love it. I respect everyone's opinion, but would like to respond to some things that reveiwers have been commenting on.

1) I live by the pool near the hottub and there are people at the pool on the weekends and in the hottub late at night sometimes, but the noise has never been unreasonable. Also, the hottub is functional 99% of the time.

2) The Carlton actually has one of the highest occupancy rates (95%) in Houston and the turnover is low. Hence, they are still closed on Sundays.

3) The staff is probably one of the nicest and most efficient staffs I have dealt with. If there is a maintenance problem it is has always been fixed within 2 hours.

4) The Carlton has won awards for its landscaping as well as for its maintenance service.

5) Its true the appliances (incl washer/dryer) aren't the most current, but the property was built over 10 years ago. I have had no problems.

6) Martin Fein built The Carlton. It is actually well constructed...better than most new apartments.

7) The back gate is closed from 7pm to 7am. This is a safety measure along with the security guard who patrols at night. Its no big deal to go out the front gate.

8) Parking is tight, but everyone who lives here gets a spot. For guests, its not that far to walk from the top of the garage to any apartment.

9) Everyone seems really nice to me. Its not my business to think about how much other people make in order to form an opinion about an apartment community.

10) If there is bad insulation around the door in a particular unit call maintenance or caulk the door. It takes 5 minutes.

The fact that you know the architect tells me that you work here, so I would say that your comment is quite biased.

I was looking at apartments recently and I knew the architect's name well. Dont be a hatter because you are just ignorant. Knowledge is power. Anway, I could tell that parking would be an issue thus I have decided not to lease there. Remember everything in life is negotiable. Either obtain two spaces in your next lease or stop complaining.
