Yo!

Dangerous and Dirty!

We lived there for 18 months. The apartments seemed nice at first, but we were relocating from out of state and didn't have the time to learn more about them.

After we moved in, we found out that the small parking lot (buildings 14 & 15) floods every time it rains. And it rains a lot. We had to wade through ankle deep water just to get to our vehicles. But that wasn't so bad, compared to the garbage and crime.

The area is not very clean. Numerous times we witnessed people get out of their cars, drop their fast food bags and other garbage in the parking lot, and continue on into the building. I personally witnessed two different people, on separate occasions and in broad daylight, urinating in the parking lot. Our next door neighbors spent most of their time sitting outside on the stairs, smoking and spitting. The concrete was permanently stained, and we had to avoid puddles of mucus to get to our door.

There are people (who don't live there) who will approach you to panhandle and to try to sell dvds and laptops.

The gate was broken most of the time, and it was propped open. Our neighbors had their air-conditioning unit stolen several times, there were numerous vehicle break-ins, and one truck had all 4 of its tires stolen.

When we moved out, it was because we witnessed a shooting. After hearing a number of gunshots, we saw a large crowd from the nearby bar was running down the street, and a vehicle driving along side them with the passenger leaning out firing his gun into the air. There were shell casings up and down the street, but no write ups in the paper, and the police had no records of 911 calls (we tried to get a copy of the police report to assist us in breaking our lease, but there wasn't one, even though we counted over 20 cop cars responding, and several other tenants had also called 911).
