Management harrassment and maintenance woes

I'm guessing on the dates I lived here, but I'm pretty sure it's correct.

I was first attracted to Chateaux Dijon by the beautiful grounds. The oaks arching over the street give it a lovely feel, as does the spread-out nature of the apartment buildings themselves. The apartments have quite interesting floor plans, plenty of closet space, high ceilings, and some other nice amenities. The price is also excellent for the location, just about within walking distance of the Galleria.

However, things began to go downhill. One weekend, they came into the apartment to do maintenance on my patio, which was HUGE -- it had a tree growing in it. All very fine and good; this didn't bother me. Except.... they left their pump equipment plugged into my INSIDE electricity overnight (for they had removed the plugs that were outside on the patios) which required keeping my first-floor patio door cracked. Given my apartment faced the (now demolished) abandoned building across the fence and that was the same weekend a woman was robbed at gunpoint in her apartment on the other end of the complex, I was not pleased.

Further, while the apartment was admittedly a bit of a paper bomb with things strewn everywhere, they decided they were going to tell me I had to clean up, I had to do this, that and the other, and then when we did... it wasn't enough.

My car was broken into once, while parked near the end of the parking lot near my apartment. To their credit, the police did attend to it quickly, and I had a slip of papar in the car when I discovered in the next morning so I could call and finalize my report -- and apologetic neighbors who hadn't realized that it was mine or they'd have come and woken me up.

I got water in the apartment twice, due to rain; the water came up in the patio, and it was the second time that I realized what had happened, when I felt a squish as I stepped near the wall. Given I was ill for six months while living there, I quickly figured out that it wasn't bad allergies as I thought... but rather mildewed carpet. The carpet was nasty when I moved in, sporting a long narrow stain near the window in the bedroom (likely caused by a rusting bedframe from the water coming in) and yet they had the nerve to try and charge me $700 for it when I moved out.

The place was great when I moved in, but quickly went downhill, into harrassment by the management and general displeasure. I was extremely happy to get out.
