I found this place online and rented it before moving to Houston - so I moved in without seeing the apartment. I got SO lucky. I know there are different buildings here, probably with different conveniences, but I love mine. I have a washer and dryer in the unit, cable is included in my rate, I have a gated parking space just steps away, and inside it's very nice (ceramic tile throughout/carpeted bedroom). Outside, the building's age is evident, and the neighborhood is just fair, but the property is well cared for. They are awesome about responding to maintenance issues; also the management staff is very nice, and they clearly make an effort to provide good service. This was my 7 month stopping point on the way to a house, but if I didn't want to buy, I would be happy staying here.

You must live in the building at the end of the street that they just acquired. There are hundreds of other units without the gated parking. When I lived at CD, we also had to pay for cable (which happened mid-lease, as when we moved in we didn't have to pay), so that must also be special to that building only. That particular building is built completely different and until just recently was also maintained by another company and believe me, it shows.
