So they were just bought up by "The Abbey" a few months ago, but I don't care - I have something to get off my chest about CHELSEA COURT and anyone associated with them (I'm looking at you, Pac West Management, GTex, and Rainbow Housing Corporation). To all of the people from those companies who have ignored the $635 owed to me and my family: you don't deserve your jobs. How dare you ignore responsibilities and consider it okay to treat customers like this.
All the financial BS aside, I can objectively list some positives and negatives about the property.
Positives: - Ample parking. Nice wide parking lots that are easy to drive through. - Price. I'm paying $435/month in a 678 sq ft apartment (I believe that's the measurement). But by its new name, The Abbey at Eldridge, and a "major renovation", the prices are supposed to go up by a couple hundred a month. - Location. All right at that corner are an LA Fitness, Kroger, tanning salon, Walgreens, what-have-you. Only like three or four miles from I-10.
Negatives: - Staff. They'll pretend to be nice to you, but they don't return calls, and most of your problems are ignored. - Maintenance. I've listed out things that needed fixing, only to find that the maintenance guys checked it off the list without actually fixing it. The sinks in all of the apartments have this horrible LOUD noise they make when someone turns them on to the "wrong" level. It can be on for a few seconds then decide it doesn't like its level and gives a LOUD sound like a boomy horn. Then you have to quickly twist and turn the knobs until it shuts up. I can hear this happen to my neighbors, too. - I hear it's not very safe. The gates have never worked for as long as I've lived here and they never even bothered to try to fix them; they've been permanently left open. I personally haven't run into problems except for having my door knocked on late at night, which scares the piss out of me. - Expensive pet policy. Doesn't make a difference to most people, but it was $500, half refundable. When I spoke to someone at the office about that later on, I was told I probably wouldn't get anything back if they'd have to replace the carpet. Uhh, the non-refundable part is supposed to replace the carpet; they have to replace the carpet anyway in case future residents are allergic..... I sure better see my other $250 when I move out.
In all, I have a horrible taste in my mouth from the $635 I was ripped out of and all the ignored phone calls and emails, so I don't have much more than a middle finger for all involved. I hope GTex goes out of business.
