I lived on the fourth floor far from the pool, gym, and parking garage. I think I had little noise issues because of this. The pool is loud and car alarms go off in the garage. If your apartment is next to the stairs, the stair doors often slam shut, so don't chose one directly next too the stairs. Also, I remember walking downstairs by some of the grass areas and it smelling like dog urin. Might also want to consider that when selecting your place.
You can hear your neighbors doing you know what when you are in the bedroom, but I have been in plenty of apartments with a lot thinner walls. The fan and light switch are one switch in the bathroom and the fan is really loud, I wish there were 2 switches. The large one bedroom is very nice, but you get the best deal for your money if you have a two bedroom with a roommate. Nice size garden tub, you have to flush the toilets twice, the washer and dryer are small, and the dishwasher sounds like a jet. The construction overall is good, but I do have to say they selected cheaper appliances/fixtures for the reasons I mentioned above.
I would say saftey is pretty good, but not perfect. Since the apartment is very isolated from bars restuarants and shops, there is no reason for random people to be hanging around. There were a 2 seperate ocasions where cars with big fancy rims had all 4 stolen and the cars were left on cinder blocks, but that had to be a very well planned event because there are always people out and about. They do have a security person walk around, but its a big complex and they can't be everywhere.
Oh - I did say that it is far from everything. ALthought it is centrally located in town, you have to drive to everything. This would be a disadvantage. I image rice area, or midtown has to be a lot more convienient where you can walk places. It is extremely close to all the highways and to Memorial park.
If you take advatnage of all they have to offer it is worth it. If all you do is sleep there, then go somewhere else for cheaper. It has a very nice lap pool not many places can say that. However, it is not heated so don't expect to use it when it gets cold. Spinning classes are free and good instructors. One of the instructors is a top female triathlete in the state of Texas. Pretty cool to me since I do triathlons. Nice size gym. You don't need a gym membership for somewhere else if you live here. Since I have moved out I am still struggling with the fact that I have to now pay $55/per month for a gym membership. Free Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate, I don't drink coffee, but did take advantage of hot chocalate a handfull of times.
I won't say anything about the staff. They are ok, some better than others. But just like any apartment place in town, there is some turnover. I think that is common to the industry.

I didnt have a problem. Most people dont wait until the last minute to have power turned on. They were great with me and my application was done in a little over a day.
