We were students...

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I just graduated from UH but have been living here for the past year with three other students. These apartments are the biggest ones you will find for this price, and splitting it between 4 of us was AWESOME! There was plenty of room for all of us and I was even splitting the smaller room of the 2 bedroom. I did have a friend of mine mugged and there was an off-duty cop that was shot, but this isn't the greatest part of town to begin with. Since then I have felt somewhat safer. The exit gate closes a lot faster after you drive through, I haven't seen shaddy people lurking around when I get home late, they boarded up the gaps in the wooden fences, and they changed they access code to the front gate to NOTHING. You can only get in with the card unless you dial an apartment to buzz you in (it should still be that way - just ask the office). That was a big reason there was so much crime because the freakin gate never worked and EVERYONE knew the code. The gate still won't work from time to time, but no one is perfect. We never had a problem with maintenance because we never really had to use them. Parking can really suck if you get home late. The electricity and water bills were never outrageous. These apartments really are HUGE and weren't too far from campus. There are no amenities except for the full size washer and dryer (which are great), but you aren't really paying for a pool or fitness center either. Two of us are moving out because we've graduated, but the others are staying and bringing more in so I guess they thought it was worth it to stay. I would recommend this place depending on who you are. College kids looking for a good deal - shoot yeah (no pun intended).
