Concord at Little York

DO NOT STAY HERE!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/10/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   I stayed at this complex last year and went through hell from day one! Our first issue was a HUGE problem!! We hired a moving company to move all our stuff. It was late at night when we arrived. We get to the apt and the key doesn't work!!!! After about an hour later, the maintance man on call finally shows up and doesn't even speak english!! You think it wouldn't be hard to explain that the key is wrong, but it was. Finally he showed us that if we lifted on the door real hard (basically the strength of a large man which i am not) that the key could work! I refused to do that and he finally (another hour later) shows up with a new door knob and key set. Second problem was the fact that b/c of their policy of occupancy and them being there, they were rarely there!! And the complex was only rented out b/c of Hurricane Katrina victims. Third, we had our stuff moved into the apartment complex but couldn't actually live there for two whole weeks b/c of the excessive roaches!! After numerous complaints by us and promises made by them that the problem was solved we finally went into the apt one night and photographed all the roaches; dead and alive! We sent copies of all the pictures of the roaches to the property company, Lynd. Next thing I know they're finally calling me to tell me they're going to stop by our apt and put down a "stronger" solution for the roaches. After that was done we took their word for it that this would help and moved in. Well, I was seeing roaches the next day! I looked around the apt in every knook and cranny and noticed cracks and spaces in the window sills. I finally went to the local hardware store and purchased a very strong roach solution. Needlesss to say, I fixed mine and the apt's problem!! Myself! After that living nightmare the only other problem I delt with was trying to get them in to fix the washing machine. Which took a few visits and then finally a new washing machine! Also, we were promised that our apt would be sprayed for roaches every two weeks! They never once showed up! Parking is nonexistant. I was constantly parking next to a dumpster 2 buildings away from my own building. Not too mention all the car break-ins!! I moved in after Hurricane Rita which had torn off a section of the roof of a building and even after my lease was up and moved out, the shingles were still missing. Horrible place!!
