I moved here in 8/07 from the nicest property on Eldridge so I could save some money. HUGE MISTAKE. My apt. looked NOTHING like the model. The only thing done before I moved in was touch up paint, painting the accent walls I paid for, and shampooing the carpet. Everything else was filthy and I spent my first weekend cleaning instead of unpacking. Not only was the apt. filthy (literally took 1/2 of my new Clorox wipes to clean the food splatter all over the inside of the microwave, cabinets, floor, baseboards- COME ON PEOPLE!) but there was a HUGE dog urine stain that they clearly tried to hide (that explained the horrid ammonia smell that first day) & a cigarette burn in my living room carpet, 3 other places around the apt. the carpet was frayed at least 2" from the wall, my smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling, my disposal didn't work at all, my dryer ran for hours b/c the timer was broken, the towel bar kept falling down, the stove wobbled severely, and finally, my front door didn't lock. Both the locks literally only went in the hole about 1mm. It was so bad I took pictures just in case I was broken into before Monday. -----, the mgr, met me on Monday to do a walk through and never once even apologized for the condition of this "luxury" apt. (that word is used way too loosely these days) and frankly made me feel like I was overreacting and wasting her time. Nice. Some things were fixed (rather, rigged) but not all. I've just decided to live with it. It's better than having to deal with mgmt. I could go on and on all day about all the other down sides to living here. All I can say is there's way too much competition out there, and believe me when I say I'd pay $1095 all over again for my 1x1 that I left because YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! I can't wait to move.
