Geez...if people did your research before you moved, this place was built in the late 60s. It is in great condition for its age and also, Dawn and her staff respond in reasonable time (24 hours) on maintainence problems (depends on the priority of the situation). In the Galleria, if you reside in an older (60s) apartment complex, you may not have connections at all. The newer ones in the area do or have individual washer and dryers. If you feel the exterior is crap, remember, YOU ARE RENTING, NOT BUYING. If you're that nit picky, build your house out of steel. Any apartment or home will get critters. NO PLACE IS SAFE FROM CRIME. Old ladies and men get robbed in River Oaks and also at Central Market. Just because you live in a predominantly "rich" area, it makes you more of a target sometimes so be aware of your surroundings. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE FOLKS! I've lived here for three, and going on four years, remember, you are going to trade one amenity for another somewhere. If you want individual w/d, then go somewhere where you can rent it, or it's in your lease, buy a house, or you can have someone else, wash/dry/fold or dry clean your stuff. But you compromise your space. If you really want to save money, take your rent and divi it up by your square footage. For me, it's 81 cents/sq. ft down the street from the Galleria. Pretty nice price for the area. Other places in Houston will make you pay more but it is not relevant to the property value listed on HCAD. Diane, Dawn, Alfredo, Larry and the remaining staff are great and go above and beyond their duty to ensure the quality of living here at this complex. I spent a year and a half researching areas to live in since I worked DT back then. I had my choices of where to live at and based upon crime reports by zip codes, price per square feet, location, amenities, and service you can't beat the deal here. People will always ----- about something, but remember, this isn't YOUR PERMANENT HOUSE. Even if some people who made negative comments on here went and bought a house, they would still have complaints somewhere along the years about the builders. Pinpoint what is important to you when choosing an apartment. Priortize and think, "do I need location so I can save on gas, maintanance, time from driving to work'" or is it, "I'm a stay at home mom and I really want the convenience of a washer/dryer in my unit." Separate your needs from your wants and maybe you will make the correct decision in choosing your next temporary apartment home wherever its at. I'm single and I hated my commute (2 hours each day), so it's either, you jack your car up on bills via maintenance and gas, or you can pay higher rent and live closer. I took my pick. I could of had a newer unit with w/d but I dry clean most of my clothes because of their material, so I don't need w/d connections. My biggest concern was storage room so I have a 1-1 with a study now. I have resided in a three bedroom unit overlooking the pool and also in a 2-1 overlooking a courtyard. I hated taking trash out, so voila! Valet trash pick up. I don't need a fireplace, it's freaking Houston! The office saves my packages from my online orders when I am away from home. If you want a bigger kitchen because you're an epicurean, get a house. Do one chore at a time so you don't get conflicts (if you happen to choose a unit here with a small kitchen and the d/washer faces the fridge), get all the stuff you are going to cook with out first, then your significant other can load or unload the dishwasher or just cook and then clean. Think about what is the most important thing to you when moving or looking to move. Remember what you have with furniture and all our things that we love to collect over the years. They need a home too and make sure you have enough room that you are comfortable. Trust me, there is less noise in this apartment complex then most of I have resided at. My boyfriend's luxury rental in Clear Lake is noisy when someone walks above you. Here, it's not that bad. Imagine what would happen if I moved into 3000 Sage with a travertine floor above me!! But I backed out of moving to 3000 Sage to stay here in the Creole on Yorktown. I've got the money to live in a variety of areas, but for the value, it's here...unless my boyfriend and I move in together, then it's time for me to move on with a compromise! best of luck everyone! Oh yeah, there is no years at this apartment for 2005 yet but I have resided here from 2001-2005! and a proud resident too!

I agree with you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Some of those halfwitts that posted some of those negative comments were unhappy before they got here and would probably never be satisfied anyway.

There are too many complaints about this property to ignore. You must be one of those individuals who settles for mediocrity. Otherwise, you would have moved a long time ago.

PEOPLE will ALWAYS complain about something its the nature of a person, you are in an apartment nothing will ever be perfect. If you move into a house you are going to find issues too. Funny this apartment is in the heart of the galleria seems like a fantastic place to me and the grounds are well kept and its gated..there will always be crime and i assure you much less then greenspoint aka gunspoint.
