It's cheap. You get what you pay for. As soon as my lease is up, I'm out. Expect MANY ------ and latinos. Minor drug trafficing/using and loud music at all times of the night if you're near the pool area. There's an ice cream guy that annoyingly honks a horn in the middle of the day regardless of who it disturbs. I would not recommend this for anyone who isn't comfortable living ------ish. (By the way, I'm black, too.) Also bring many roach bombs, because their spraying every Wed. won't help out.... any.

Alright, so I wrote this a year ago and decided to stay with the complex, but moved to another apartment within the property. Where I am now, the drug dealing seems to have gone down a little bit, it's not as hot out there. To deal with the residents with loud music, I started going to speak to them, and they obliged me and turned their music down. I'm on the second floor, so the roach problem isn't too bad. You just have to take matters into your own hands. Getting the apartments to spray isn't going to do any good, so I went out to Walmart, got 5 bombs and a can of raid, set them off in the middle of the night in 2 sessions, and went back and sprayed with the raid. With that, and keeping my house clean, I hardly see roaches anymore. Maybe 1 or 2 every couple days. Maintenance is nice, but unorganized. If you snatch a worker outside and explain your problem, they're generally nice and will come and work on it. If you go in the office and put in a work order, it will never get done. I had a garbage disposal unit I continuously asked the office to fix. After 3 months, I went online and figured out how to fix it myself. My a/c currently leaks into my sink in my bathroom. I put in a work order every day for 2 weeks. They started joking about it and promised everyday they would have someone look at it. Well, I grabbed a maintenance worker and he looked at it and slowed the leak, but it still drips enough to fill the sink daily. Little things like that. There's going to be some flood victims there. It's not out of the question to hear people yell across the complex to run a conversation, people getting into fights, or the occassional gun shot. But it's not to the point where it's dangerous. No one there's going to shoot you if they don't have any beef with you. They have recently changed management. I was cool with the old landlord, but I do not know the current one. I haven't seen any great advances in safety, but they do keep the premises clean and water the grass, etc. There's plenty of parking in the back. My girlfriend got her car broken into and the radio stolen. The same happened to me a couple years back. I suppose it cannot be helped, now I have an alarm on it (necessity) which alerts to my keyring if my alarm goes off. The population is mixed with --------- and ------. There was an older white man who lived there who used to walk his dog... I haven't seen him in a while. But all and all, if you're paying under $400 for it, then its livable. It's not the worst of places, but it's not close to the best of places. You just have to make due with what you have there. You have to do-it-yourself sometimes and make sure you have your own brand of security.
