First of all you do get what you pay for, but now the rent is going up, so I'm going to get what I pay for some where else.
Parking Lot does flood BAD in fact I almost lost my car in it coming home from work late. I did not realize how deep the water was. I've never seen a flooded sidewalk near my apartment, but I don't doubt others do.
Manager is a doll to me...but it has changed management so many times and I didn't like the previous ones. As for the rest of the staff, not friendly at all to current residents. I always go straight to Barbara (manager).
Safety...nothing beats having the Katrina refuges housed next door at the Astrodome... Aside from that, I never felt unsafe, then my roommate's car got broken into and never heard anything back from the apartment about it. You must accept every apartment/parking lot at some point has break-ins though. don't let the gates fool you, the butt up to the patios and anyone can jump up on the patio and around, they do it all the time.
Location - AWESOME
Price - Used to rock, but now they want to charge close to $800.00 for a two bedroom...I can get that anywhere, and trust me I am. It's time for an upgrade anyways. This place is too old to spend that much in rent on.
Upgrades - the supposed upgrades the person before me posted...they painted and didn't bother to warn us so I got paint all over my patio furniture. Otherwise I've never seen any other upgrades.
Neighbors - I have the quietest neighbors. Most of the residents are either UH students, Rice students, hospital employees, or even some hospital patients. Not the kind of people I get nervous seeing in the parking lot at night. As a woman that works late, I've never felt unsafe with my neighbors and strangers stick out quickly.
