April 1, 2002 I moved in. Wanted to move out by April 2, 2002. First day I moved in the air conditioner was broken. One good thing - On the very next day, Easter Sunday, they had it replaced.
Here's a visual: 1980's thick puck tan carpet. 1970's, avacado green, left-over kitchen appliances, obviously saved from some condemed property and cabinets made of particle board, fasionably covered by want-to-be wood-type laminate. Bathrooms done by the same interior decorator and they must have been very tiny people. I am 5'4" and with my arms streched out, the tips of my fingers reached both side walls in the upstairs bath, with my arms streched out, the tips of my elbows reached both side walls in the half bath downstairs. Trim design on these lucious rooms was done with a thick brush, making sure to over brush where any wood-type laminate was visible. If you're an outdoorsy type; pass. There are no balconies or patios for the townhomes. Still you could settle for the matchbox sized apartments with a balcony...one of many that view the dumpster. Bath tub (upstairs in the townhomes) leaked and water ran through the floor coming out of the kitchen ceiling. This was not a concern to the office staff because of the three times I complained about it, they never came to fix it. My remedy: Large bucket to hold water that leaked.
And if that is not enough to entice you; enjoy the staff. Ugly, rude, incompetent, unprofessional, seriously lacking communication skills and brain activity.
I was on "the list" for a covered parking spot for four months. Another tenent was moving out, he told the office he wanted me to have his parking spot since it was so close to my apt. That afternoon I went in the office to claim it and they had already given it away to someone else.
If you can deal with paying the water bill for the whole building, divided by the number of apartments in each building, regardless of how many people are in each unit, and nevermind the continual leaks around your building; this would be the place for you. You'll also enjoy long walks to the mailbox which is located in the north 40. I don't recommend doing this at dark. Male or female, it is just not safe.
I moved out of my townhome when my six month tour of renting was over. There is not one aspect of this place that I would find attractive to prospective apartment hunters. Keep in mind the old saying, "you get what you pay for".
To the young and elderly: do not move here. It is not safe and you will be taken advantage of.
