Loud noises and rude management

Management is rude and inconsiderate (except when your moving in). If your not a heavy sleeper then count on being woken up 2-3 times a night, several nights of the week when the local train yard gets going. Literally, the train will blow its horn for up to 15 seconds at a time for 10-15 minutes a night. Tenants do not clean up after their pets and management doesn't seem to care. On one occasion, a tenant let their dog crap on our door mat. It is not unusual to see dog feces and smell dog urine in the enclosed hallways. The workout center looks nice but the machines and TVs are regularly broken. The basketball gym (which is a great feature) attracts an undersirable element to the complex late at night and on the weekends. Not a big deal for guys but my girlfriend won't go to the gym alone after 9.
The entrance gates are broken once a week and when the gates work the gate remote often malfuntions. This creates a huge problem (if you work past 6) because your stuck without a way to enter the premises until you can get your gate remote reprogrammed on the weekend. Don't believe the office when they tell you that the gate can be opened 24 hours a day by dialing a number on the gate keypad (nobody answers). The result of which is that both my girlfriend and I have had to park on the street on at least 5 occasions each.
The parking is inadequate. The spots are sized to fit compact cars and, as a result, SUVs and trucks can't fit into one spot without hitting into each others doors getting in and out.
The only benefit of living at the Estates is that the downtown commute is great. Don't, however, count on getting much sleep.
